Tequila Lime Mojito Cocktail

This Tequila Lime Mojito Cocktail has a refreshing light citrus flavor with just a bit of mint.  A slightly different version of the traditional Mojito, this drink uses tequila instead of rum.

A delicious low-calorie drink that is simple and so fast to prepare it will be at the top of your go-to list of drinks.  About 10 minutes is all the time you need to prepare this mojito and then you’ll be relaxing with a refreshing tasty cocktail.

Tequila Lime Mojito Cocktail

The lime and mint syrup

  • 1 c Sugar
  • 1 c Water
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 1/2 c Fresh mint leaves (save 2 sprigs of mint for garnish)


  • 4 fl oz Club soda
  • 4 fl oz Tequila of your choice
  • 2 Limes, cut into wedges
  • Ice


The lime and mint syrup

  1. In a saucepan add 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Boil until sugar is dissolved. About 1-2 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and add the lime zest and 1/4 cup of the mint leaves. Cool to room temperature. This makes enough for 10 drinks. You can refrigerate any unused portion for up to 1 month.


  1. Add the mint leaves (save 2 mint leaves and 2 lime wedges for garnish), and lime wedges to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Muddle with muddler or the back of a wooden spoon until the lime juices and mint oils are released.
  3. Add 4 Tbsp of the lime and mint syrup, 4 oz. of Tequila, 4 oz. of club soda, and ice to the shaker and shake, shake, shake for about 10 seconds.
  4. In 2 glasses add the desired amount of ice (cubed or crushed).
  5. Strain contents of cocktail shaker into each glass.
  6. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint.
